ISC's pragmatic and efficient approach to the application of sustainable communication demands a new generation of business professionals trained in best practices and consesus-based standards. To fulfill these needs, our activities are divided into three distinct areas: Research and Consulting - a systems approach to enterprise printing, publishing and packaging: The ISC provides research and consulting to organizations of all sizes, with proven programs an tools that promote economic, social and environmentally sound business practices in the design, sourcing, production, use and disposal of communication media. The ISC recently hosted the inaugural meeting of the Sustainable Advertising Partnership™. More than 100 visionaries focused on how publishers, and their advertising supply chain partners, can work together to adopt business practices that will measure and minimize their environmental impact, and increase shareholder value. We concluded two Repsonsible Enterprise Print™ ("REP") program evaluations where significant cost savings measures were identified that will result in a substantial reduction in the environmental impact of their printing and publishing requirements. Read more about the REP programs completed for Piper Jaffray and AIGA. Fellowship and Mentoring - developing human capital Through a series of fellowship and mentoring programs, the ISC supports the professional development of young business leaders who will have the knowledge, skills, networks and values to implement fiscally and socially responsible business practices. These leaders will create enterprise and shareholder value by lessening the total cost and environmental impact of enterprise communication. SOS Reach™ is a grassroots movement to improve the social, Education and Outreach - large-scale organizational change, innovation and sustainability Based on decades of knowledge and industry expertise, the ISC staff, advisors and fellows help foster the development of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary academic curricula among and between business, environmental and communications media programs. This, combined with practical training that is relevant to emergent skill and knowledge requirements will enable young professionals to function productively in a more complex, competitive and interdependent business environment. ISC REACH™ is an outreach program that aims to stimulate classroom discussion on climate change and sustainability among the students and instructors in higher education. We aspire to an honest and unbiased look at the challenges the world faces today and in the future.
